Day 1: Nairobi - Lake Naivasha
Your professional driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or residence in Nairobi at 6:00 AM. After a short safari briefing, you will depart for the Great Rift Valley, enjoying a scenic drive with a stop at the Rift Valley Viewpoint for breathtaking panoramic views and photo opportunities.
Continue your journey to Lake Naivasha, arriving at around 12:30 PM in good time for lunch. You will check in, freshen up as you wait for lunch to be served. Later, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at the hotel.
Boat Ride on Lake Naivasha
After lunch at around 2:00 PM, you will proceed to Lake Naivasha, where you’ll enjoy a guided boat ride across the tranquil freshwater lake, and have the opportunity to experience:
- Close views of hippos in their natural habitat
- A rich variety of birdlife, including African fish eagles, cormorants, kingfishers, and herons
- Beautiful lake scenery with floating vegetation and surrounding landscapes
Your guide will share fascinating insights into the lake's ecosystem, wildlife, and birdlife throughout the excursion.
Crescent Island Walking Safari
After the boat ride, proceed to Crescent Island for a guided walking safari. One of the few places in Kenya where walking among wildlife is possible, Crescent Island offers close encounters with zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, impalas, waterbucks, and other herbivores in a predator-free environment. Enjoy spectacular photography opportunities with Lake Naivasha providing a stunning backdrop.
Later in the evening at around 4:30 PM, you’ll go back to your lodge/ hotel, where you’ll spend the rest of the evening, have dinner, and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Hell's Gate National Park - Nairobi
After an early breakfast at 8:00 AM, check out of your lodge and proceed to Hell's Gate National Park for an adventurous morning exploring one of Kenya's most unique parks.
Unlike most national parks, Hell's Gate allows visitors to explore on foot or by bicycle, providing an unforgettable up-close wildlife experience.
Activities include:
- Cycling alongside zebras, giraffes, gazelles, and other wildlife
- Hiking through spectacular gorges and towering rock formations
- Exploring geothermal features, including natural steam vents
- Learning about the park's unique geology, wildlife, and history from your guide
Spend the morning exploring the park at your own pace before departing Hell's Gate at 1:00 PM.
Thereafter, begin your journey back to Nairobi with a stop en route for a self-sponsored lunch. You are expected to arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon at approximately 6:00 PM, where you will be dropped off at your hotel, residence, or preferred location, marking the end of your memorable Lake Naivasha and Hell's Gate adventure.
