Your professional driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or preferred location in Nairobi at 6:00PM. After a brief safari briefing, you will depart for Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary via the Nairobi–Mombasa Highway, enjoying scenic countryside views and passing through picturesque landscapes along the way. A brief stop will be made en route for refreshments before continuing to the sanctuary.
Upon arrival at approximately 1:30PM, proceed to your lodge for check-in and lunch before setting out on your first game drive at 3:00 PM, through the privately managed sanctuary, which borders Tsavo West National Park. Taita Hills is renowned for its rolling hills, lush vegetation, and abundant wildlife, offering excellent game viewing in a compact and less crowded environment.
During your afternoon game drive, you will have the opportunity to see:
- African elephants, lions, buffaloes, and leopards
- Masai giraffes, zebras, impalas, waterbucks, and other antelope species
- A rich variety of birdlife, including raptors and savannah birds
- Beautiful landscapes, watering holes, and panoramic views of the Taita Hills
Your experienced guide will share fascinating insights into the sanctuary's wildlife, ecology, and conservation efforts while making strategic stops for wildlife viewing and photography.
Later, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
